I need to get out

It's almost May. The year is almost half over and I have only been to the mountains once, and that was two weeks ago. I love the mountains. I want to retire in montana where I can live in rockies, but for now I live in Washington. So many places to hike, and there's only so few saturdays this summer. Some places I want to go this summer are:
Mt Adams
Mt. Colchuck or Dragontail Peak (pictured)
Mt. Index or the one next to it.
the north cascades
learn how to travel on glaciers
Necklace valley
Echo and Observation Rock

I don't even know when the next chance I'll get to go out is. When I get the chance, I will take it. I feel like I'm where I was made to be when I'm in the forest or the mountains.

Adventures in the Snow

A few weeks ago two friends and went on a trip to go climb to camp Muir, on Mt. Rainier. I didn't think we'dmake it because of the bad weather, and unfortunately it turned out that I was right. The road was closed at Longmire, so instead we decided to climb Eagle peak. The weather was bad and the snow was deep, so we ended up climbing Chutla peak instead. It was a long and strenuous day, but a lot of fun and a great learning experience. It was my first ascent of anythingin winter conditions, and I learned how to use an ice ax and crampons. I also learned not to drop the camera case down the steep slope covered in waist deep snow that I just climbed.

I've finally caved in

I've finally caved in and created a blog, just like everyone else aroung me. The myspace site didn't count because myspace is gay. I feel like I've sold out. Oh well. Check back later for more info and random stuff.
